Called To Serve

I created this blog for my son, Benjamin Mullins, who was called to serve as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He will be serving in the Singapore Mission and the Maylaysia Region Area for the next 2 years.  He was appointed to speak English so he will not have to learn Mandarin or Malay.  I am sure he will pick up a little of those languages along with Tagalog and a few other languages spoken there.  He will enter the Missionary Training Center in Provo on July 13th and will be there for approximately 3 weeks.

We are certainly excited for him.  We can hardly wait for his emails and photos that he will send home.  These emails will be found on this blog as we receive them. I'm sure he will have some amazing experiences and meet people he never would have here.  We anticipate that he will come home an even better and refined young man.  As much as we will miss him we are so glad he chose to leave home for 2 years to serve his Heavenly Father and to bring the gospel message to people on the other side of the world.

He gave a beautiful and heartfelt talk in sacrament meeting yesterday which included a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and His restored gospel.  We are proud of this wonderful young man.  He has made good choices his whole life and those choices have led him to this point in his life.  What a blessing it has been to have him in our home.  We wish him the best of luck and bounteous blessings from our Father in Heaven.

Ben's farewell day
